Understand where people are at in the buying cycle and promote accordingly. Spend the most time sharing affiliate links where people are ready to buy. For example, you can share affiliate links on Pinterest, but most people are not on Pinterest to buy but to look. As such, focusing your affiliate marketing strategy on Pinterest might not be the best use of your time. Review posts, for example, might be better at tipping people over the line into buying.
Another way to utilize your talent and business skills is to run corporate workshops online. Businesses are always looking for unique ways to help educate their workforce, and if you can package your talents into a day or half-day long session, you can sell that to companies all over the world to make money online. Start by building a portfolio and then reaching out on LinkedIn to influencers at relevant companies to see if they would be interested in you teaching their team.
The editors of websites and magazines are no longer necessarily looking for a journalist degree or a lot of experience. They want to find people with real life travel experience who can captivate an audience… and they’re happy to pay for that. In this post I’m going to list 99 (yes, ninety-nine) awesome websites and magazines that you can pitch your ideas to so that you can get paid to write online.
I also recommend FlexJobs for finding more home data entry jobs. With that site, you can regularly search legitimate work at home jobs for data entry and other industries. Every job lead is guaranteed scam-free, and it's the only membership-based jobs site I currently use and trust. Their listings are updated 5-6 times per week, and they are plentiful. You can currently get 30% off a subscription using promo code AFFILPROMO.
Another magazine with a digital edition, Common Ground is an independent publication that is 100% Canadian owned. It is Western Canada’s biggest and one of its oldest monthly magazines. The publication is dedicated to health, wellness, ecology and personal growth. Submissions are typically between 600 – 1,500 words and pay is $0.50 per word. The final word count is done prior to publication and after all of the final edits have been completed.
Fit4Mom is a home-based franchise opportunity that allows you to make money while walking and instructing other moms. With exercise programs for pregnant women, new moms, and moms who want to get back into shape, there is something for everyone. With a low startup investment, you'll be given a territory where you operate Fit4Mom programs. What better way to get in shape and make money walking?!

29. Videos – This could be an entire section on it’s own. Many people have made money by creating YouTube videos. Evan of EvanTube is a kid and he has made millions by creating reviews of products that other kids his age would use. It’s not easy to get views into the millions, but once you do, you’ll start seeing some cash come in. Many bloggers have completely turned to videos to get their point across by starting a video blog.

This quarterly journal is targeted towards hunters and anglers, so if you’ve done a fly fishing or camping trip, you may be able to get a feature. They’re always looking for is a journal for hunters and anglers to tell stories and give tips on fishing locations and campfire tales, whether they be fact or fiction. The pay is good at $850 – $1,000 per Expedition (2,500 – 3,000 words), $600 – $1,250 per Features (1,500+ words), $600 for Yarns (750 – 1,500 words) and $100 for poems (max 1,000 words). They also pay up to $250 per photo, so you’ll not only get paid to write online, but you’ll also get paid for your photography.

My 10-year-old son brought home a book from our park’s free library box. It was a biology textbook – teachers edition. He said it looked interesting and hey, it was free (having no idea you could sell it). I scanned it in my Amazon seller app and realized it was worth around $150. He was so excited. We listed it for sale for $130 and it sold! Going to tell him, he just made $130!
If you have a fondness and talent for taking pictures you can make extra money online by becoming a stock photographer and selling your images to a stock photo company like ShutterStock or iStockPhoto. You’ll get royalties every time someone licenses an image you’ve submitted. To really be successful, build your own photography website to be able to showcase your portfolio and start getting higher-paid private corporate work.
Turn your photographs into cash via sites like Fine Art America, which lets you upload your images to sell as prints, t-shirts, phone cases and more. Other marketplaces for photographers include SmugMug, 500px and PhotoShelter. Some sites require a subscription but may provide features ranging from cloud storage to password-protected galleries and a customized website.
You’re going to have to spend quite a bit of time reading the writer’s guidelines if you ever want a post accepted at the LA Times, but if you manage to get something posted there, the pay is decent and the recognition is excellent. They are no longer considering any submission that does not have great photos. At $750 per article, this is a great opportunity to get paid to write online, but be ready for a lot of back and forth with editors.

One last note. I’ve been asked what I think of other affiliate marketing resources, both free and paid. I’m familiar with some of them, not all. I’ve read ebooks, watch videos, bought courses and more. So far, the only paid-for course that has impressed me enough to recommend is Kayla Aimee’s Affiliate Acceleration: Impactful Strategies To Increase Your Passive Income.

Again, this isn’t particularly a travel site and they won’t accept purely travel narratives, but they are always looking for submissions about the business of earning money while travelling, making money online and the overall business of travel. They also publish short interviews with successful professionals getting paid to travel, either through blogging, photography, videography or any other way.

I recently stumbled on the Trim app and I have to say, this one is a game changer. It’s a simple app that acts as your own personal financial manager. Once you link your bank to the app, Trim analyzes your spending, finds subscriptions you need to cancel, negotiates your Comcast bill, finds you better car insurance, and more. And of course, the app is free! My bet is that it will only take a few days for Trim to put an extra $100 in your pocket. So easy!
